Interface Design 3 / Interaction and Experimental Interfaces – FutureLab 2013

Current technologies like printed organic electronics, 3D-MID and smart fibres will be introduced in this project. We will investigate their potential impact in the area of future interfaces and applications in close cooperation with the major German research institutions in these fields.

We plan to have two intensive first weeks. 3 Excursions are planned in the first week of the semester (Oct 21-25). Do not miss the project introduction on Monday 14th 10:30 h and the projects Kick-Off meeting Thursday October 24th!

Please register for this project until Monday October 14th via email to jens.geelhaar@uni-weimar.de.

A joint workshop will be organized with the Innovation Lab in Heidelberg in October. We will also continue our cooperation with Swareflex Austria.

Conceptual and practical Methods of Art & Design are applied to research questions in the area of human-computer interaction in architectural and urban settings. Concepts for interactive and tangible devices, spaces and applications will be developed. Prototypes showing the functionality of these concepts will be realized and discussed in the course.

Current developments in HCI will be introduced. This course is also open for students wishing to perform initial research, and who want to develop concepts for their Master thesis in the next semester.
