Teaching Art Education: Fast Perfekt, 2025
Type: Project Module Degree Programme: Fine Art Education Professorship: Teaching Art Education Advisor: Christian Andrés Parra Sánchez, Catalina Giraldo Vélez

The pursuit of perfection is a multifaceted and widely debated topic, deeply rooted in cultural, individual, and societal influences. What criteria define what is considered “good quality”? How do notions of perfection shift under the tension between subjective perceptions and cultural norms? Most importantly, how can artistic processes be designed to consciously create space for error, experimentation, and iterative exploration?

Of particular interest is the role that intentional failure can play—not only as a means of fostering resilience and creativity but also as a catalyst for innovation. In artistic practice, especially, the deliberate integration of such unorthodox approaches opens up immense potential that warrants further exploration.

These central questions formed the thematic core of the introductory project module. The resulting works were developed partly individually and partly through collective processes, reflecting the diversity of approaches and perspectives.
