The radio play ‘Ich spiele mit dem Gedanken, eine Symbiose mit einer Motte einzugehen’ (I am considering to enter into a symbiosis with a moth) deals with alcohol dependency and addiction through an autofictional narrative. The play’s protagonists, who are very sure that they are characters in a tragedy, flicker and float through a shared discourse. While driven through the piece by the ‘choir of the miserable proletariat’, who occasionally search for their car keys, the narration will sometimes lead them into the Mariana Trench, sometimes into the eye of the author, and the radio play develops into a quest for an identity-establishing poetry.
