Starting from July 2023, Liubov Chernysheva joined the IfEU as a postdoctoral fellow within the BUW fellowship program for researchers fleeing the war. Liubov is an urban sociologist. Her PhD thesis focused on collective life in post-socialist large housing estates and analyzed practices of sharing, governing, and digitally mediating everyday realities in various kinds of neighborly relations. She worked on several research projects on urban grassroots initiatives and urban commons with a focus on digital mediation and the role of social media in coordinating activists. Currently, Liubov is working on a project that elaborates on urban maintenance and care concepts in the everyday life of large housing estates.
