In order to follow the system transition to more globally-oriented educational opportunities the course of study is conceived from the start as an international programme. International co-operation has special priority at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. This is evident not only in the number of foreign professors, colleagues and guest lecturers, but also in the number of foreign students.
A study exchange of at least one semester – usually the second or third semester – serves to enhance the development of internationality. The most distinctive feature of the programme for the students is not only the opportunity for additional qualification, but also familiarity with different study systems and instructional approaches.
The integrated double degree master IMAMS programme was established in the fall of 2012/13 in cooperation with the State University of New York at Buffalo and offers a unique, international approach towards studies in the field of MediaArchitecture. Throughout the course of studies, held jointly in Weimar and Buffalo, students are engaged in an interfaculty, research- and/or design-based learning experience.
