Remarkably in the past decade, and in a very wide-spread fashion, people across the world have mobilised into taking action. Demonstrations, revolutions and uprisings have been dominating the public attention and its media outlets.
These actions in most cases have been taken by ordinary people; doctors, carpenters, etc., the working man.
To them, the call for change is a reaction to dire living situation, and in most cases is triggered by traumatic events.
The call for change isn’t always about politics, it can be a call for change in the economy, nuclear power, life style..etc. and many other issues that are as complex as our modern life.
We have plenty of pressing issues that affect our livelihood directly and indirectly. People across the world, have different reasons and motivations for taking action.
In many cases, the streets have acted as a platform for talents and new forms of expression to rise and crystallise.
People come together in solidarity, expressing a mutual interest in a better life and facing up for real danger, overcoming the many obstacles that have been thrown in their way.
On the other hand, the media has been very biased by the different groups of interest that they represent. One of the dangerous sides of the media that came to light as those major events unfolded, is the Media war that has been launched from all of the involved sides. Exercising misrepresentation of ideas, even some times manipulating facts, have given a misleading picture of our realities, and lacking the tools or set of mind to investigate and verify information, leading to a bigger fracture in society.
