Research Line 2 of the proposed Research plan is titled „Identify and catalogue infrastructure financing schemes across time, sectors, engagement, region, law, and other framework conditions“. This seeks to answer the central research question:

How are infrastructure investments financed and which impact do they have?

Based on the data and historical background information, concrete sets of financing mechanisms can be identified and correlated to specific situations and framework conditions. This is also heavily dependent on the technological progress and innovation, which has to be integrated as another factor.
