Paula Marie Hildebrandt, Berlin
Paula Marie Hildebrandt, Phd in European Urbanism, will introduce us to the idea of omnitopia, based on her background in political theory, research about interactions in public space and artistic practices. The concept of “omnitopia” originally coined by American scholar Andrew Wood is the starting point for the project ‚made in “omnitopia” by Paula Marie Hildebrandt and Nathalie Fari. The term is an amalgan between ‚utopia‘ (not-place) and ‚heterotopia‘ (other-place) – omnitopia does not reside elsewhere, but everywhere. You have to experience it – as it happens, as it merely is. According to Wood omnitopia can best be described as a kind of embodied performance, always in the present tense. This idea provided a theoretical and practical framework for the performative research project ‘made in omnitopia’: an investigation of our own attitudes and behaviour, the social habits and codes of communication in public spaces. Eine Zusammenarbeit des Programms Master of Fine Arts der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar mit der ACC Galerie. Vortrag in englischer Sprache.
