1) Why are you researching at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar?

I am researching at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar because it offers a unique interdisciplinary and international atmosphere that fosters collaboration across various fields, particularly in research spatial issues. Bauhaus`s long tradition of openness to alternative and creative research approaches allows for innovative exploration and critical thinking, making it an ideal environment for my work.

2) What is special about your project? Why is it relevant?

Examining how different social actors perceive the built space surrounding them and how they relate to it under different circumstances will help us understand the society with existing power relations and inequalities. My research project aims to understand how the interaction between society and physical built space changes when there is a change in the social life and everyday life rhythms of social actors. For this inquiry, I approach heterotopia spaces in a way that enables the exploration of the relationship between authority, space and everyday life. I take Istanbul City as a case for this investigation.
