1) Why do you study at the Bauhaus University?
My decision to study in Weimar is driven by several compelling reasons. Firstly, Bauhaus University offers a highly regarded M.Sc. program in Human-Computer Interaction, aligning perfectly with my academic and career aspirations. The university boasts knowledgeable professors and a scientifically-oriented approach, which will provide me with a comprehensive understanding of the field. Moreover, Weimar's rich cultural history and association with the influential Bauhaus movement hold immense appeal to me. By immersing myself in this inspiring environment, I aim to gain a deeper appreciation for the arts and architecture that originated from this distinguished university. The choice to pursue a Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction stems from a profound journey of self-discovery and professional growth. Initially, I explored digital marketing as an elective during my undergraduate studies, only to realize that it was a stepping stone towards my true passion. As I delved deeper into the field, I became captivated by the profound impact of UX on people's lives through technology. The emphasis on design and empathy in Human-Computer Interaction resonated with me, providing a more fulfilling path compared to the business-centric focus of digital marketing. To expand my knowledge, I extensively engaged in self-education, devouring books by pioneers like Don Norman, consuming research articles and papers, immersing myself in podcasts, and attending various courses and online seminars. Additionally, my long-standing interest in psychology and human dynamics found a perfect complement in Human-Computer Interaction, further reinforcing my conviction. Pursuing a Master's degree in this field will satiate my hunger for knowledge, provide opportunities for research, and pave the way for a fulfilling career centered around improving user experiences. It will also serve as a foundation for future endeavors, including entrepreneurial pursuits and potentially even doctoral studies.
2) What is special about your project, why is it relevant?
In recent semesters, I have engaged in various enriching projects, including a captivating one I did this semester which focused on utilizing wearable technology to address the health challenges experienced by international students during their transitional phase. This research project aimed to enhance their physical and mental well-being while facilitating their adaptation to a new cultural and academic environment. This project has been immensely rewarding, allowing me to apply my knowledge in human-computer interaction and fueling my passion for using technology to enhance people's lives. It has deepened my understanding of the potential of wearable technology and furthered my dedication to research and problem-solving in this field, driving me to seek innovative solutions to enhance user experiences.
3) What distinguishes your volunteer work in Weimar?
Apart from my studies, I actively participate in the Culture Talk Group in Weimar, where we organize events to promote cross-cultural understanding, foster unity, and cultivate love and compassion among people from different backgrounds. It brings me great satisfaction to contribute to creating a space where individuals can learn about diverse cultures and build meaningful connections within the Weimar community. In addition , I am was involved in organizing events to support protests in Iran. The event aimed to raise awareness about the issues faced by the people of Iran and to stand in solidarity with their cause for freedom and justice. Through these voluntary activities, I strive to make a positive impact and contribute to advocating for human rights and social change.
