Register Now: Empowerment-Workshop for Students Who Experience Racism

On Wednesday, November 20th, from 3 to 6 PM, the Diversity Department will offer an empowerment workshop for students who experience racism.

Contents:

In the workshop, we will start by examining the reality of everyday and structural racism. We want to take a closer look at the mechanisms of racism: What exactly is behind it, how does it work and manifest itself, and how can I deal with it?

There will be a safer space to share experiences and identify options for action when experiencing racism. With the help of the reflection wheel and a look at the participants’ own sources of strength, strategies for dealing with racism will be practised and made visible. As part of the concept of the empowerment approach, the Safer Space focusses primarily on empowering students who experience racism.

About the workshop leader:

Sabrina Rahimi (pronouns: she/her) is a state-recognised social worker, racism-critical trainer, empowerment trainer, certified mediator and lecturer at Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
