1. »Art restores democracy« - MeetFrida Foundation poster campaign and exhibition

Poster campaign »Art restores democracy» by MeetFrida Foundation. Shown: Faltnazis by Martin Bronsema

During the critical period ahead of the Thuringian state parliamentary election, this public art event intends to drive people towards thought, debate and action. Large-format billboards at highly frequented public spots in the whole state will be repurposed as exhibition spaces starting on August 20th and show works by three artists focusing on democracy as a topic.
During the Kunstfest Weimar art festival the posters will be shown as an exhibition in the university library from August 22nd until September 7th. You are invited to attend the exhibition opening on August 22nd, 5pm!
The posters will additionally be available to be viewed and downloaded online.
The project »Art restores democracy« was created by the MeetFrida Foundation in order to make a statement against right-wing extremists in the time leading up to the Thuringian state parliament election.

A jury that represents different departments of Bauhaus-Universität will select the award winners. Contributions will be shown in the library entrance area starting in late September, combined with a poll for the audience favourite.
