Julius focuses on the practical implementation and realization of 1:1 scale designs. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees in architecture from the Bauhaus University in Weimar, Germany. In the meantime, he gained practical experience during his apprenticeship as a cabinet maker.

Since 2018, he has worked as a research assistant for various professors at the Bauhaus University Weimar. Since October 2021 he is working as a research assistant at the Chair of Constructive Design and Testing.

In addition to his teaching activities, he is also active in practice, with an overriding interest in sustainable and resource-efficient construction methods. His projects include the planning and realization of the "Grünes Labor" for the BUGA21 in the Ilm Park. His publication "Freibad-Kolonnade. DesignBuild als Lehrmethode" was published in 2023 together with Stephan Schütz and Kassandra Löffler.

Since 2022, he has been a representative of the academic staff on the Faculty Council of Architecture and Urbanism at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
