New Project - INNOSTROH (2024-2026)

InfAU, in collaboration with the Faculty of Civil Engineering, has started a 3-year research project titled INNOSTROH to develop innovative digital planning tools and automation solutions for sustainable building using load-bearing straw bales.

The project explores the potential of straw, an abundantly available and renewable agricultural byproduct, as a load-bearing construction material. InfAU is responsible for developing parametric planning tools, creating a BIM library, and establishing planning guidelines. INNOSTROH aims to contribute to this sustainable building practice by addressing inherent challenges such as material variability and lack of standardization.

The project officially kicked off with a meeting on May 23, attended by research and industry partners.
