Successful Doctoral Defense by Verena Vogler
Dissertation on Artificial Reef Design achieves summa cum laude!
On Tuesday, 23rd of November 2021, Verena Vogler successfully defended her doctoral dissertation — supervised by Vertr.-Prof. Dr. Sven Schneider and Prof. Dr. Jan Willmann — with "summa cum laude".
The dissertation is entitled "A Framework for Artificial Coral Reef Design: Integrating Computational Modelling and High Precision Monitoring Strategies for Artificial Coral Reefs — an Ecosystem-aware Design Approach in times of Climate Change" and fosters radically new ways in restoring threatened tropical coral reefs through the combination of computational design, high precision underwater monitoring, and digital fabrication. The research was kindly supported by the German Academic Scholarship Foundation and the Andrea von Braun Foundation.
The chair of Computer Science in Architecture sincerely congratulates Verena Vogler on her outstanding contribution and wishes her all the very best for her future endeavors.
