Free Project: “Schulumbau” – Planning with children
The purpose of this project is to develop and implement a concept for participatory transformation of a school site and its outdoor area in the context of its urban environment. Our aim is to prepare this project until the upcoming 2018 renovation and expansion of the Weimar Community School (location ‘An der Hart’) together with its students and teachers.
During the winter semester the current situation will be analyzed, requirements determined and initial concepts developed. A project week will be prepared where concepts will be further developed and first steps implemented. The subjects of this project are both the theoretical approach to participation with children and urban planning and architectural issues of school site development and design.
The project also facilitates the independent organization of realizing such participatory processes in close coordination with the supervisors and contacts of the school. The project is integrated in the program "Cultural agents for creative schools" and will have access to funding from their resources for preparing participatory processes and implementation of individual measures.
