Immediately with the beginning of the “Urban Minorities” project’s funding by the DAAD in 2012, a first meeting with the partners at the university Alexandria was agreed on. Detailed arrangements were necessary, in particular for planning the activities in the first project year and the common objectives. Besides becoming acquainted with the local partners, the program included several technical lectures, thematic walking tours through Alexandria and visits of the DAAD office in Cairo and of the German University Cairo.
