In 2016, the Professorship of Design Theory and Design Research was inaugurated at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Led by Prof. Willmann, the focus lies upon novel, interdisciplinary approaches of design theory and research. Main research areas are emergent practices and discourses of contemporary design cultures, and the history and epistemology of media and information technology.
