With the "Irregulab" project, an interfaculty and transdisciplinary teaching and research project has been approved, focusing on the development of new concepts, strategies and methods for the digital design and processing of irregular wood material. The project, funded by the Stiftung Innovation in der Hochschullehre (StiL) with EUR 390,000, is interfacing with design and architecture, and is being pursued in close cooperation with local and regional players from the forestry, timber industry and craft. The project will be led by Jun. Prof. Dr. Thomas Pearce, M.Sc. Lukas Kirschnick and Prof. Dr. Jan Willmann, and will start on April 1, 2024. Further information will follow shortly.
