As part of the conference "Design and Digitization" (being initiated by Prof. Hyun Kang Kim at the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences), the conference proceedings "Form follows Data" was just released, discussing the (trans-)formative role and responsibility of the design disciplines in the digital age. Included is, among others, the contribution "On the History of the Digital in Design: An Approach" by Jan Willmann - bringing forward a fundamental historical perspective of digital design and places them in larger cultural contexts.
