Bio

Katharina Thurow is a designer, architect, and researcher. Since April 2024, she has been involved as an artistic associate in the "Emerging Technologies and Design" chair's research project LogDesignBuild. She studied architecture for both her bachelor's and master's degrees in Regensburg and Weimar. After completing her architecture studies, she spent a year in the product design program at the Bauhaus University Weimar before transferring to the master's program in "Design" at HDK-Valand – Academy of Art and Design in Gothenburg, Sweden. During her studies, she worked as a research assistant at the Chair of Theory and History of Modern Architecture and the Graduate School for Identity and Heritage at Bauhaus University. As a freelancer, she worked with bplus.xyz (formerly Brandlhuber+) in Berlin from 2017-2018 and has since been self-employed in architecture, design, and art production (since 2024). From 2014-2016 and 2019-2021, she received the "Deutschlandstipendium" from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, and in 2020, one of her study projects was awarded a scholarship from the Gründerwerkstatt neudeli. She completed her studies in the summer of 2023 and has been living in Berlin since, where she works as a freelance professional alongside her primary occupation.
