Bio
Mira Müller is a carpenter and designer. Since March 2024, she has been working as an artistic associate at the Chair of "Emerging Technologies and Design." She completed her training as a carpenter at the Deutsche Werkstätten Hellerau. This was followed by a bachelor's degree focusing on wood design, furniture, and product design at the Faculty of Applied Arts in Schneeberg. She completed her master's degree in product design at the Bauhaus University Weimar. During her bachelor's studies in 2021, Mira worked as a research assistant on an international collaborative design project called "MADE IN." Additionally, Mira has been leading workshops on woodworking for children, adolescents, and FLINTA (female, lesbian, intersex, non-binary, trans, and agender people) on a freelance basis since 2018.
In spring of 2024, she completed her master's degree and is now pursuing a PhD on the topic of digital manufacturing and gender design. As a designer, Mira navigates the intersection between speculative, critical design, and gender design, with wood, technological processing, and queer-feminist theory being essential components of her work.
