About the degree programme
The consecutive English-language Master's degree programme »Public Art and New Artistic Strategies« combines theory and practice, artistic research and experimentation. It is aimed at artists who wish to further develop their artistic position and deepen their independent conceptual and experimental working methods.
In addition to the courses offered by the »Public Art and New Artistic Strategies« associate professorship, a transdisciplinary teaching concept offers the opportunity to participate in the interdisciplinary courses offered by the faculty, especially in the Fine Art degree programme. The aim is to develop an awareness of the different historical, social and cultural realities that are reflected in the examination of public space and in independent artistic work.
The work processes can be presented and discussed in regular meetings and consultations in project and specialist modules. Professional exchange is supported by additional (international) guest lectures and teaching assignments. Excursions and visits to exhibitions provide an insight into the (inter)national art scene.
Students on the Master's programme are expected to actively and intensively participate in their studies. They also have the opportunity to try out the conception and realisation of their own teaching content in Bauhaus modules and are supported in this by mentors. The university's own Career Service and Centre for Language and Cultural Learning offer additional professionalisation opportunities and language courses.
The consecutive degree programme sees itself as an international degree programme. The working language of instruction is English. The programme is aimed at both foreign and German art college graduates. A one-semester study abroad programme for German students serves the special development of internationality.
