The award-winning poster was created in the summer semester of 2023 and advertised the exhibitions of the »Typography and Type Design« Professorship for the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar's annual exhibition, »summaery2023«, and was designed by Johanna Mehner (8th semester) and Ossian Osborne (4th semester). In addition to the flickering colour contrast of black print on neon red paper, it captivates with its strict symmetry, in which typography and ornamentation merge elegantly.  This extravagant poster is definitely an eye-catcher for the announcement of the 2023 summer exhibition. 

The jurors first made an online pre-selection. At the final jury meeting chaired by Toan Vu-Huu, 619 posters (245 individual posters and 103 series with 374 posters) from 219 entrants were submitted. The award is linked to an exhibition tour in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as well as in Korea and other locations. It will begin on Thursday, 13 June 2024, with the opening exhibition at the Kulturforum, Staatliche Museen zu Berlin. The exhibition will be accompanied by the yearbook "100 Best Posters 23" with all the winning motifs.

The work was supervised by Associate Professor Charlotte Rohde and Artistic Associate Marcel Saidov.

About the competition:
The »100 beste Plakate Deutschland Österreich Schweiz« (100 Best Posters Germany Austria Switzerland) competition is organised annually by 100 Beste Plakate e. V. and aims to publicise special achievements in poster design from the three countries in the form of a yearbook and several exhibitions. Posters of all genres and printing techniques can be submitted.
