POWER HOUSE: University Gallery exhibits on the Schiller-Museum premises in 2023

With the POWER HOUSE exhibition, nova space – the university gallery of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar æ will move into the Schiller-Museum in 2023 to mark the 100th anniversary of the first Bauhaus exhibition. Nova space will present a programme for several months that bundles the creative energies from the four faculties. This will provide a platform for contemporary art, design, architecture and research to come into contact with external guests and visitors.

HOME ZONE - Third exhibition of the university gallery »nova space« shows works by Francis Zeischegg in dialogue with students and colleagues

Under the title »HOME ZONE – Francis Zeischegg & Friends«, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar gallery, which currently resides in the rooms of the Kunsthaus Erfurt, presents the works of long-time the lecturer of the Faculty of Art and Design. On display will be works from the past ten years, which will be set in relation to works by »friends«, students and colleagues who have influenced Francis Zeischegg.

Second exhibition of the University Gallery of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar presents works from the field of artistic research

Under the title »Spooky Actions«, seven artists from the Faculty of Art and Design who combine their work with practical and/or scientific research will be exhibiting in the temporary gallery space of »nova space« in Erfurt from Wednesday, 29 June 2022. The exhibition is part of the comprehensive programme of the International Annual Conference of the Society for Artistic Research (SAR), which will be hosted by Bauhaus-Universität Weimar from 30 June to 3 July 2022.

»SPACE, ACTIVATE!« – Exhibition of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar Gallery at Kunsthaus Erfurt.

On 27 April 2022, the first of a total of four exhibitions will open at Kunsthaus Erfurt, the temporary exhibition spaces of the »NOVA art space«. The group exhibition »SPACE, ACTIVATE!«, which relates works by students and alumni of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar to three renowned international positions, will kick off the exhibition. It is dedicated to performative and collaborative practices and focuses on artistic works that literally activate and charge the newly acquired spaces with energy by means of performances and actions.

Verleihung des Lyonel Kunstpreises 2021

Der Lyonel Kunstpreis wird im Rahmen der Jahresschau »summaery2021« der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar vergeben. Die Preisverleihung findet im NOVA art space, am Freitag, 16. Juli 2021, 18 Uhr, statt.

»SOFA SO GOOD« - NOVA art space launches online exhibition

NOVA art space will present an online exhibition on the social media platform Instagram from Monday, 18 January 2021. On the dedicated account »sofasogood.nova«, fifteen artists will look at the ›sofa‹ from different perspectives. The exhibition is accompanied by a program of lectures, film screenings, music and performances.

WALKING WEIMAR: Publikation des NOVA art space erschienen

Der NOVA art space stellt mit WALKING WEIMAR ein kuratorisches Projekt in Papierform und ein Handbuch für eine fiktive Ausstellung im öffentlichen Raum vor. Die Publikation basiert auf dem Fachkurs »NOVA_remote, testing new curatorial strategies« von Katharina Wendler aus dem Sommersemester 2020 – einem Versuch, die Aktivitäten des NOVA art space in der Online-Lehre fortzusetzen.
