Autobahn Westfalen: International Master's Students visiting Dillenburg/Bochum
In part of the PARFORCE Pilot Course "Experimental testing based on impact and resistance: Wind, Fire & Earthquake", International master's students in civil engineering from Croatia, North Macedonia and Portugal were guests this week at the Dillenburg branch of the Westphalia motorway.
The 25 young men and women are currently taking part in a European cooperation program (Erasmus+), which also takes them to Germany. Here they are supervised by the Ruhr University Bochum and the Bauhaus University Weimar. As part of a nationwide sightseeing program, the students are also looking at the A45 replacement project for the Bornbach and Bechlingen viaducts. After a brief presentation of the project, we headed out to the construction site. Despite some language barriers, the students were informed diligently of the current status of the work and given details of the further planning.
