BBV and IBB presenting the OCQA on EC3 conference
From July 10th to 12th, this year's European Conference on Computing in Construction (EC3) took place in Heraklion, Greece. During the conference, we had the opportunity to present our ontology for construction quality assurance (OCQA).
At the EC3, we had the opportunity to present our ontology for construction-related quality assurance. The main focus of our publication was on determining appraisal costs. In this regard, the OCQA was extended through a collaboration between Jan-Niklas Lünig (IBB) and Sebastian Seiß (BBV), incorporating characteristics and properties for describing appraisal costs.
Moreover, we defined rules to automate the estimation of appraisal costs. This allows for a reduction in time required for inspection planning as well as decreases the likelihood of human errors.
Furthermore, the determined appraisal costs can be used to assess the feasibility of conducting an inspection. By comparing nonconformity costs with appraisal costs, it becomes evident whether a particular inspection is financially reasonable. To this end, we plan further publications to automate the calculation of error costs.
