Research project with the University of Auckland

Welcome to Aotearoa

Following the previous research trip to New Zealand by guest lecturer Judith Fauth and the visit to Weimar by researchers Robert Amor and Stefan Fuchs, Markus Boden, a research associate at the Chair of Construction Engineering and Management, travelled Down Under for four weeks to work on the project "Isomorphic drafting of building regulations as human- and machine-readable rules". As part of the project, information on the drafting processes of building codes and standards was examined on the basis of qualitative expert interviews conducted worldwide. By introducing parallel creation processes for human- and machine-readable versions, the basis for automated compliance checks can be laid in the future. In addition to the project work, various events were attended at the university and an exchange with the Department of Civil Engineering was organized. We are delighted that the DAAD and ENZ-funded Programme for Project Related Personal Exchange (PPP) has strengthened our research contacts and laid the foundations for further promising collaborations.
