As part of third-party funded projects, the chair participates in basic and application research in the areas of wind engineering as well as structural health monitoring of reinforced concrete structures.
The professorship covers a wide range of research topics, ranging from traditional reinforced concrete and composite constructions over wind engineering and aerodynamics, bridge construction and bridge dynamics, as well as inspection and monitoring to extreme impacts and progressive structural collapse.
The access to the experimental facility of the Institute of Structural Engineering, including the Wind Tunnel and the Sensor Laboratory as well as powerful computer hardware and software resources enables the experimental and numerical implementation of experiments of various scales and complexity.
