Textile Cycles: Where School Meets Research

On June 16, 2025, the Chair of Resource Management had the pleasure of welcoming a group of students from the Internationale Gemeinschaftsschule Erfurt. The visit took place as part of a school project week focused on the upcycling of textiles and offered participants insights into research, technology, and design.

b.is Heads to the Capital – Two Days of Excursion Week

Once again this year, a successful excursion took place as part of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering’s Excursion Week. The four chairs of the b.is Institute jointly offered an engaging two-day program focusing on critical infrastructure in the areas of resource, water, and energy management, as well as transportation systems planning.

During the winter semester of 2024/25, a truly special brew was created as part of the module Measurement Technology in Waste and Wastewater Management. Four students Amelie Rüger, Janna Unger, Jennifer Blum, and Justin Kühn in their fifth bachelor semester report on their experience applying practical measurement methods through the process of brewing their own beer.

Fire Safety Training in the Courtyard

On March 18, 2025, colleagues from the Chair of Resource Management took part in an active fire safety training. The goal of the session was to practice using fire extinguishing equipment and to learn the correct procedures to follow in the event of a fire.

Post-Consumer Textiles in Scientific Discourse

On March 13 and 14, our team participated in the 14th Scientific Congress on Circular Economy and Resource Management, hosted by the DGAW at the University of Kassel. As part of the event, Melanie Börmel presented her research on Thursday, sharing key findings from the se-Ro.inTech research group.

Guest Lecture by Texulting

On December 11, 2024, Franziska Lehmann, Executive Director of the consulting company Texulting, delivered a guest lecture to environmental engineering students on sustainable textiles and sustainability reporting.
