Auf der 92. Sitzung des Verkehrsausschusses des Verbands Beratender Ingenieure haben Prof. Uwe Plank-Wiedenbeck und Karsten McFarland von der Professur Verkehrssystemplanung die Forschungsprojekte der Professur sowie im Speziellen das Bauhaus.MobilityLab vorgestellt.

The flight of a cargo drone or the use of an electronic guide dog for the blind: at this year's ITS World Congress, the world's most important conference and fair for the mobility of the future, the latest research results will be presented, technical developments will be shown and the framework conditions of science that make the use of such technology possible in reality will be discussed. The Bauhaus.MobilityLab of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will be there, representing the state of Thuringia this year. Together with the Thuringian Ministry of Infrastructure and Agriculture (TMIL), the scientists from Bauhaus-Universität Weimar spoke on the ITS Germany stage about the necessity of living labs and traffic trials in transport research.

In diesem Jahr widmete sich der DGON-Konvent dem Automotiv-Bereich des Vernetzten und Automatisierten Fahrens. Die technische Basis dafür bildet einerseits die Kommunikations- und Ortungstechnik aber auch andererseits die automobile Umfeldsensorik, welche Infrastuktur-orientiert (z.B. Straßenkreuzung, Tunnel, Parkhaus) und Szenarien-orientiert (z.B. Platooning, Fußgängerschutz, Integrität) auszulegen ist. Neben Fachvorträgen von Nachwuchswissenschaftler*innen wurden zugehörige Demo- und Testfahrten von Forschungssystemen des assistierten bis zum autonomen Fahren auf dem Testfeld demonstriert.

The Logistik Netzwerk Thüringen (LNT) has completed a change in its office. On 1 October, Lena Klopfstein took over the management of the office, which is now located at Bauhaus University Weimar. Based at the Chair of Transport System Planning headed by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Uwe Plank-Wiedenbeck, the close links between the university and the network should lead to additional synergies. Central challenges such as digitalisation or the mobility revolution can thus be better tackled together.

The Chair of Transport System Planning is looking for a student/scientific assistant (m/f/d) to work on the administration of the IT infrastructure of the chair with a workload of at least 40 hours/month (by arrangement).

Since 2008, the Wissenschaftsforum Mobilität (Mobility Science Forum) at the University of Duisburg-Essen has offered a platform for the presentation and discussion of research work on the topic of mobility. This year's event on 17.06.2021 is themed "Transforming Mobility - What Next?" and addresses an interdisciplinary transformation of the mobility industry in the face of multi-layered challenges and societal changes.

Elf Teilnehmende aus Berlin, Bayern, Baden-Württemberg, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern und Rheinland-Pfalz starten in diesem Jahr in den Zertifikatslehrgang zur/m Sicherheitsauditor*in für Außerortsstraßen und Ortsdurchfahrten, welcher von der Professur Verkehrssystemplanung sowie der Bauhaus Weiterbildungsakademie organisiert wird. Die erste Phase des Kurses fand digital vom 19. bis 21. April statt.

In the current spring semester, Julius Uhlmann, member of the Chair of Transport System Planning, was invited as guest lecturer to Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Lithuania).

Growing traffic volumes are the cause of gridlocked traffic and traffic jams, especially in large cities and conurbations. Other consequences are environmental pollution, especially from carbon dioxide, particulate matter and nitrogen oxides. The municipalities control traffic in order to keep the adverse effects on road users and residents as low as possible. Often there is a lack of reliable data and data exchange between the various actors. The mFUND project SCHOOL (Strategy Change through Open Data Oriented Solutions) has taken on this challenge and is now reaching its conclusion.
