»The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is, and will always be, a diverse, open-minded and democratic space. This includes embracing all genders and sexual identities. At our university, we reject discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity and we are committed to dismantling existing barriers, especially those that affect trans/inter/non-binary individuals. Our third Campus Pride Week celebrates this diversity and the ›intersex-inclusive progress pride flag‹ will be raised prominently on our Main Building. The dignity of all people is non-negotiable«, explained Prof. Peter Benz, President of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
The year's »Campus Pride Week« is organised by the Equal Opportunity Office, the Diversity Department, StuKo (Student Government) representatives from »QueerYMR« and »Bauhaus.Internationals«, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar »Diversity.Guides«, the »Campus.Garten« and »Maschinenraum« student initiatives, »Bauhaus.FM« Experimental Radio, and the »Futuring Machines« research group, as well as the »CSD Weimar« and the »AIDS-Hilfe Weimar & Ostthüringen e.V.«.
All university members and affiliates, as well as any interested guests, are warmly invited to engage with the queer realities of life as well as queer history, art and culture through the event’s vibrant programme. The event also provides the LGBTQI+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex) community numerous opportunities for exchange and networking.
