Prof. Peter Benz, President of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, and Dr. Simon Frisch, Vice-President of Student and Academic Affairs, will kick off the event by welcoming the »newbies«. This will be followed by a welcome speech from Weimar’s Mayor Ralf Kirsten. Afterwards, members of the StuKo (Student Government) will deliver their own speeches to the first-semester students.
Dr. Nathalie Jean-Baptiste, Deputy CEO and Head of Programmes - Wealth Inequality at the Julius Bär Stiftung, Zurich, and herself a Bauhaus-Universität Weimar alumna, will address the first-year students in her speech before the university prizes are awarded by Prof. Peter Benz.
The afternoon programme includes a musical performance by »Atafrava«.
After the official part of the programme in the Audimax concludes, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar invites guests to a reception in the foyer of the University Library starting around 6:30 PM. This event will offer new students the opportunity to network and socialise with professors, staff, and fellow students.
Representatives from the media are warmly invited to attend the Matriculation Ceremony.
