The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is organising Tag der Lehre for the second time to provide space and time for exchange and reflection. »At the first Tag der Lehre the focus was on collective development of the Bauhaus.Semester and the centenary year, and this year’s Tag der Lehre is dedicated to the evaluation and continuation of the Semester: we will examine which successful formats to continue with as well as visualise and discuss new formats, spaces and platforms for transdisciplinary study. We will also ask ourselves which new study content the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar needs in order to master the future challenges of our society. «, says Prof. Nathalie Singer, Vice-President of Academic Affairs.

In six one-hour idea workshops numerous questions will be discussed, such as: »Which design opportunities does the university open up?«, »What do I need to consider if planning a student-led teaching project?« and »How could a Bauhaus.Digital.Studies field of study, a collective learning workshop or a transdisciplinary Bauhaus.Woche be designed?«

In parallel, a methods workshop made up of four 20-minute long mini workshops will be taking place in which knowledge in areas such as mindfulness, interactive learning materials and intercultural competence can be acquired and put into practice. Tag der Lehre will then gradually draw to a close with a summary of the findings from the idea workshops as well as the presentation of the 2018 teaching award ceremony, and finish with drinks and a BBQ in the evening.

In order to enable everyone interested in the event to attend easily, on 29 May no lessons will be taking place at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar from 1pm onwards. Childcare facilities are offered by the ‘Bauhäuschen’ so that parents can attend.
