»A total of 20 partner universities from all over Europe take part in the Spring School as part of the ERASMUS Blended Intensive Programme (BIP). The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar’s short-term programme offers international students an important and enriching learning experience,« explains Kristiina Oelsner, Coordinator of the Bauhaus Spring School.
The Spring School offers a wide range of courses, categorised into four different subject areas: For example, the course »Virtual Reconstruction of Architectural Heritage: Preserving the Past in the Digital Age« in the field of architecture and urbanism is being jointly organised by lecturers from Weimar and Bosnia-Herzegovina. It will explore the fascinating interface between technology and the preservation of historical monuments. Participants in the »Grey Energy Matter« course will learn about topics including how to develop strategies to effectively utilise valuable energy resources. Students in the “Augmented Futures” course in the field of media and culture will engage in critical debates about the technological and post-human era, with a focus on artificial intelligence and virtual reality.
The Bauhaus Spring School 2024 provides students with an intensive learning experience as well as a varied supporting programme that provides an opportunity to relax, network and share experiences. Excursions are offered to Erfurt, Eisenach, Dessau and Leipzig, allowing participants to discover the diversity of Central Germany alongside Weimar’s historical treasures.
A special highlight will be the »Open Ateliers« from 2 to 6 pm on 22 March: At the culminating exhibition on the campus of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, the participants in the Bauhaus Spring School will exhibit their work and give visitors the opportunity to get to know their ideas, concepts and artistic creations. Those who are interested are cordially invited to attend. The event will also include the presentation of the book »Charles Fabri – An Art Critic« by Pappal Suneja, a lecturer at the Spring School and a doctoral candidate at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, at 4 pm.
