Information security and cryptography are concerned with secure communication in an insecure environment. In its research, the Chair of Information Security and Cryptography concentrates on the design, analysis and use of cryptographic algorithms and security protocols. A particular focus is on symmetric cryptography.

Our courses teach you,

  • how to define security requirements,
  • how to analyze whether a given system meets its security requirements or not, and
  • how to actually implement secure systems.

In particular, students should be enabled to critically analyze IT security systems.
