The summer semester usually begins on 1 April and ends on 30 September. The lecture period ends in mid-July, followed by 2-3 weeks of examinations.

What do I need to know about the Learning Agreement?

The Learning Agreement is a contract between you, your home university and the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. It specifies which coursework you wish to complete in Weimar and to what extent it should be credited. You can obtain the relevant form from your home university or via the EU's Online Learning Agreement (OLA) platform.

To complete your Learning Agreement ‘before mobility’, please use our online course catalogue, BISON. Please bear in mind that the courses offered by the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar are only published about four weeks before the start of the relevant semester. However, if you need help, you can find the course archive of previous semesters here.

You can update the Learning Agreement ‘during mobility’ at the start of the semester in Weimar.

Your Learning Agreement will be signed by Annette Reese (International Counsellor) at the Faculty of Media.

Can I learn German at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar?

Yes, the Language Centre of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar offers German courses at all levels. In addition to the intensive German courses in March and September, you can also attend German courses during the lecture period.

This can sometimes take until the end of September (summer semester) or the end of March (winter semester). If you require your grade(s) earlier than this, please let the relevant lecturer know beforehand.
