Sophia Lick, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) Master’s student, came up with the idea for »MindLeague«, an AI-supported mental coaching app. The app helps professional and extreme athletes to build mental strength, manage stress, and optimise their performance. Lick was awarded first place at the Red Bull Basement National Final in Munich on 16 November and will go on to represent Germany at the Global Final in Tokyo. She beat out more than 1,000 submissions with her vision, impressing the jury with her pitch. She was highly praised for her clear vision and the potential of »MindLeague«.
Lick received support for her project from the Startup Hub »neudeli«. She started working at the start-up as a fellow in 2024 and used this opportunity to develop her idea for the app. In her forthcoming Master's thesis, she will investigate the subject of the app scientifically and will be supervised by Junior Professor Dr. Jan Ehlers and Professor Dr. Eva Hornecker at the Faculty of Media.
»I’m thrilled that my idea succeeded at the Red Bull Basement National Final. This award proves that creative and innovative projects from the Bauhaus-Universität can find their way onto the international stage. I still can't believe that I'm going to the global final!« said Lick after her win. »My main goal is to take my interdisciplinary approach to Silicon Valley and get one-on-one coaching and meet investors there.« In order to realise her vision, the student is looking for committed app developers, sports psychologists, and business developers who are interested in working together to develop the app further.
