On Thursday 2 March 2023, the Bauhaus-Museum Weimar and the Faculty of Media’s Bauhaus.Medien.Bühnen Labor invited all those interested to a »partizipative Raumgestaltung« (participatory spatial design) workshop. The event was led and moderated by South African architect Tom Sanya.
Participants at the well-attended workshop took advantage of the opportunity to explore and design spaces together with others. Handmade objects from recycled materials facilitated exchange and a better understanding of architecture and spaces.
Vice President of Student and Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Christian Koch, opened the event, which marks the 100th anniversary of the first major Bauhaus exhibition of 1923. The Presidium of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is supporting 23 ideas and projects within the context of the exhibition. The projects are the innovations of students, instructors and researchers and are being funded with the goal of increasing public awareness of current issues at the university.
The day was rounded off by lectures and performances from the 2023 »Animismus/Maschinismus. Konfigurationen der Kritik zwischen Wissenschaft, Kunst und Technik« DFG research project.
»Animism/Machinism. Configurations of Critique between Science, Art and Technology«
