Travel to partners or potential partners outside Europe can be funded through the International Cooperation Fund. Travel by visiting scholars to the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar are also funded. In both cases, the grant is a partial grant of up to 80% of the calculated costs.
1. Guest stays of international partners at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar
Funded travel and accommodation costs for stays that promote the initiation and maintenance of international cooperation. No per diem is paid; costs for food, visas, Internet use, telephone bills, etc. are also not covered. The applicant must be a full professor at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
Visiting scholars from Erasmus programme countries can be funded through the Erasmus+ funds of their home university (here is a list of programme countries). To do this, they should contact their local International Office. If a visiting lecturer does not come from a university, but rather from a commercial enterprise or other organisation, the the stay is eligible for support with the Erasmus+ funds of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Please contact Christian Kästner.
2. Non-European trips of academic staff of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar
Grants are provided for travel and accommodation costs for trips to non-European countries for the purpose of initiating and maintaining international cooperation. Participation in conferences, workshops or seminars is not eligible. No per diem is paid; costs for food, visas, Internet use, telephone bills, etc. are also not covered.
If approved, please submit the official travel application to the International Office (DIB) for confirmation of funding. The DIB covers a maximum of 80% of the calculated costs and sets a maximum amount. The amount depends on the resources available and the number of applications expected to be eligible for funding per fiscal year. You can apply for an advance in the official travel request.
