Dear colleagues at our KA171 partner universities,
Here you will find the most important basic information on the KA171 funding line in the ERASMUS programme.
KA171 partner universities are universities that are of particular strategic or historical importance to the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
The KA171 funding line in the ERASMUS programme provides funding for incoming and outgoing students (SMS/SMP) and staff mobilities (STA/STT).
KA171 is a competitive application procedure. Each year in February, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar must submit an application for funding to the European Commission.
The project duration is always 36 months, so that the project durations overlap or run in parallel.
Based on 4 criteria, the NA DAAD decides which partnerships receive funding and how much it is.
As the funding varies annually, the available funds must be coordinated between the institutions. Partner universities contact the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar when they start allocating their exchange places to enquire whether and how many KA171 scholarships are available for their students and/or staff.
The funding amount is individual. It depends on the duration of the stay and the projects´ requriements. It is paid in monthly instalments.
For students, the funding amount is: | 850 Euro / month + one-off travel allowance (based on distance) + Social Top-Up (if the eligibility criteria are met) |
---|---|
For staff, the funding amount is: | 160 Euro / day + one-off travel allowance (based on distance) |
Supporting the application
The KA171 partner university supports the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar in the application process, if required, by coordinating joint processes and exchanging information on the progress and content of the partnership.
ERASMUS contract
A valid ERASMUS contract (so-called “Inter Institutional Agreement”) is a prerequisite for the payment of KA171 scholarships. The ERASMUS contract is prepared by the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and must be signed before the start of the mobility.
If a bilateral agreement already exists, it must be supplemented by an ERASMUS agreement.
Selection of the scholarship holders
The home university decides on the organization of a selection procedure (e.g. via a call for applications and submission of application documents or a personal interview).
Based on the following selection criteria, which of their students should receive a KA171 scholarship:
The home university sends the names of the selected scholarship holder(s) to the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and explains its decision in 2-3 sentences. The time of the selection decision / notification to the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is ideally at the same time as the nomination.
Following the notification by the partner university, the selected scholarship holder(s) will receive all information on receiving the KA171 scholarship.
