Museums

Weimar’s art scene is very colourful and vibrant. Along with exhibitions by students and faculties at various venues, there are a number of established galleries that feature new programmes on a continual basis. Cinemas
Weimar has several large and smaller cinemas. The large cinemas include “Cinestar” which usually shows the newest Hollywood blockbusters, and the “Cine Magnum” which features films in 3-D. There are also two art-house cinemas in Weimar, the “Lichthaus” and “Mon Ami”, both of which show the latest independent films and feature numerous film programmes. Theatres
The theatres in Weimar hold performances of both classical and modern plays, and offer concession rates for students (the DNT Semesterticket, which is linked to the semester fee and the thoska - on certain conditions this gives free admission). The “Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar” is the largest and best-known theatre in Weimar. There are also a number of smaller independent theatre venues in Weimar.
