University Information Day at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar
The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will open its doors on Saturday, 15 March 2014 for the annual »HIT - University Information Day«. Between 9 am and 2 pm, prospective students are cordially invited to visit info stands and attend lectures on the study opportunities offered in our bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes. Guests may also tour the classrooms, laboratories and workshops on campus.
The »HIT – University Information Day« will kick off with a welcoming speech by the future Vice President for Academic Affairs at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, Prof. Dr. Jutta Emes, and the managing director of the Studentenwerk Thüringen, Dr. Ralf Schmitt-Röh, in lecture hall A at Marienstrasse 13. This will be followed by a presentation by the General Academic Advising staff about the distinctive qualities of the study programmes offered at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
As in past years, the student dining hall Mensa am Park will serve as the central location of the University Information Day. »HIT provides prospective students and their parents with all the important information they need –details about specific degree programmes and the general conditions of study, such as BaföG, student living, university sports and international exchange programmes,« explains Christian Eckert, academic advisor at the Office of Student and Academic Affairs.
During the day’s events, there are also plenty of opportunities to ask specific questions, either at the info stands in the Mensa or directly following the presentations. And for those who already have a certain degree programme in mind, presentations by professors allow future students to learn first-hand about the content and requirements of study and their career perspectives.
Parallel to the lectures, the Faculties of Architecture and Urbanism, Civil Engineering, Art and Design and Media will also open their doors. Prospective students, their parents and friends will have the chance to experience the campus on guided tours through the workshops and laboratories.
The Bauhaus.Botschafter, students enrolled at the university, will be on hand to share their personal insights into life in Weimar and studying at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Speaking with the Bauhaus.Botschafter, the guests can learn how life at the university really works and whether the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and the city would be a good »fit«.
