NEW@BAUHAUS: Human Resources Organises First Welcome Event for New Employees
On 9 October, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar welcomed its new employees with the new NEW@BAUHAUS format. All university members who have started working at since 1 January 2024 were invited to the event.
»The ›NEW@BAUHAUS - Welcoming New Employees‹ event is aimed at strengthening our welcome culture at the university and helping people get to know one another and network with each other. Of course, we also hope to get feedback on the onboarding phase and the needs of new colleagues. This feedback allows us to develop and professionalise the onboarding process and improve our welcome culture«, explains Dr. Carolin Wick, Human Resources Director of Personnel Development and Health Management.
The event kicked off with a warm welcome from the Presidential Board and included speeches by President Professor Peter Benz, Chancellor Dr. Horst Henrici, and Vice President for Social Transformation Dr. Ulrike Kuch. After a brief round of introductions, attendees had the opportunity to speak with one another and to note what they liked about »arriving«, what they thought was missing, and what they would like to see in the future.
Upcoming NEW@BAUHAUS will take place at the beginning of each semester in connection with the university’s spring and autumn receptions. The event is organised and coordinated by the Personnel Development and Health Management Departments of Human Resources.
