»iRRE SPACE« Open Call: New Exhibition Project Seeking Exhibition Concepts From All Faculties
In the 2023 summer semester, a new venue will make its debut in Weimar’s art scene: the Freie Kunst’s newly founded »iRRE SPACE« exhibition venue. The venue is currently looking for exhibition concepts from all of the university’s faculties. The deadline for applications is Tuesday, 7 February 2023.
Founded in the 2022/2023 winter semester, »iRRE SPACE« is a dedicated location for art-related projects and is intended to foster social interaction. It is located on the ground floor of Marienstraße 14 and is part of the Freie Kunst department in the Faculty of Art and Design at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
The goal of »iRRE SPACE« is to strengthen the presence of student contemporary art exhibitions at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and to inspire the local community by presenting contemporary art in Weimar. In the upcoming 2023 summer semester, exhibitions will be held on a bi-weekly basis and will be independently organised by participants of the »AAAUSSTELLUNGEN MACHEN MACHEN MACHEN« course.
»iRRE SPACE« will host three exhibitions during the 2023 summer semester and is encouraging students and doctoral candidates from all faculties of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar to submit concepts. Concepts can be submitted until Tuesday, 7 February 2023 and, if accepted, will be realised in the following semester. The selection process is carried out by students from the »Experimentelle Malerei und Zeichnung« project course. Further information on applying as well as other general information can be found at https://www.uni-weimar.de/fileadmin/user/fak/gestaltung/iRRE_SPACE/Downloads/IRRE_SPACE_Rahmenbedingungen.pdf.

iRRE: Institut für regionale Realitätsexperimente
iRRE is an artistic institute that carries out seriously non-serious research. iRRE is the results, predictions, methods, study subjects, means and locations where research is conducted. The institute is a utopian space. It can constitute, be shaped or changed by anyone. There is no such thing as an immutable reality. irre-bauhaus.de
