Invitation to the »Student Volunteer Afternoon« on 22 April
On Tuesday, 22 April 2025, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar will be honouring their student volunteers starting at 2 pm. The event will provide an opportunity to engage in conversation in a pleasant and casual atmosphere. Together, we want to celebrate both the close cooperation between the universities’ student bodies and the student commitment, something that is too often overlooked.
A special highlight is scheduled for this year: For the first time, the »Student Volunteer Afternoon« will take place as a joint event between both student bodies. The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar’s StuKo (Student Government) and the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar’s Student Council are organising the event, which will take place in the M18 garden, together. The event will begin at 2 pm, kicking-off with speeches from the Presidents of both universities and a small thank-you for all current student volunteers. Following this, student representatives who are involved in university policy committees, departments, or other initiatives will be recognised for their work. The event will feature musical performances by students from the University of Music.
Afterwards, all attendees are invited to socialise over drinks and snacks. The event is a unique opportunity for any students who are considering running for the next term in office; the afternoon will offer students the chance to learn more about student government and committee work and to ask individual questions. Which position is the right fit for me? Which position is the right one to start off with?
With the numerous committees at the university, it can be hard to keep track or to know how big of a time commitment is required. Your fellow students who are currently in office will be happy to talk about their experiences and to share tips on the best ways for new volunteers to get involved in committee work.
They are all motivated by one thing above all: the experience of actively participating in the development of their »Bauhaus Uni« and »HfM« by working together with other students to make a difference and ensure that the students’ voices are heard.
