New »European Urban and Planning Studies« Double Degree Programme Strengthens European Profile
The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is introducing the »European Urban and Planning Studies« (EUPS) double degree programme taught in English at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism.« Students will have the opportunity to join the EUPS degree programme as part of the established European Urban Studies Master's degree programme, which, upon successful completion, awards students with a double degree from the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and the Blekinge Institute of Technology in Karlskrona, Sweden.
The programme content is carefully coordinated and makes an integrated, interdisciplinary course of study at university locations possible. After studying for the first year in Weimar, students move on to Karlskrona for their third semester. Students work on their thesis in the fourth semester with dual supervision in Weimar and Karlskrona.
Students expand their spatial and strategic planning knowledge and skills along with urban research and work on questions of urban development in a European context. The degree programme provides a research-based education in European urban development issues, including social cohesion, heritage and housing research, mobility, and sustainable planning.
The double degree programme, which will first be offered in the 2025/2026 winter semester, will enhance the European focus of the entire programme. The application deadline for prospective students from outside Europe is 15 May; applications from the EU and Switzerland will be accepted until 25 June every year.
The degree programme is the first joint programme offered as part of the »Bauhaus4EU«, an alliance of ten European universities that are aiming to develop innovative teaching, research, and exchange formats through international and multilateral cooperation over the next four years.
