University’s Annual Theme Officially Begins
The Wind Tunnel Lab was lit up in purple, pink, and green for the opening of the »BEYOND NOW ⸺ Environment ⸺ Technology ⸺ Human« annual theme event at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Vice President for Social Transformation, Dr. Ulrike Kuch, presented the focal point for 2025 in her welcoming speech and emphasised the importance of the impact research and teaching have on society.
For »BEYOND NOW ⸺ Environment«, everything in 2025 will centre around the complex interactions between living beings and their material and immaterial environments. The Presidential Board is providing support for ten interdisciplinary projects from all the faculties, professorial staff, and students projects, as well as four thematic Bauhaus.Modules through the »BEYOND NOW Fund«. Together with the »BEYOND NOW – Questions on the Future of Society« event series, these projects make up the focal points for this year’s annual theme.

Guests at the kick-off event had the opportunity to speak directly with project participants and learn about the content and objectives of the individual projects. A highlight of the event was a guided tour through the Wind Tunnel, which represented the annual theme as a space for movement and transformation.
