How do I get into writing, be it alone or with others? What can go wrong with an academic paper? How do I prepare for the final presentation of my art project? What do I need to know before publishing my texts? We explored these and other questions at the 10th Night of Writing on 13 June 2024. Under the motto »Rewind« we dedicate ourselves to the eraly stages of writing especially the moments of failure as an irreducible part of the writing process.
We would like to thank everyone involved once again and are already looking forward to the next night of writing.

Keynote »Einerlei. Wieder versuchen. Wieder scheitern. Besser scheitern. Eine Versuchsanordnung« by Nancy Hünger
In her keynote, Nancy Hünger circles around failure, against the effects of sovereignty. The ordinary, the productive, the necessary failure. The focus is on the work of language, the extent to which failure is a necessary condition of poetry in particular and of writing in general. Why does our language fail, and to what extent do we fail because of language?
The Keynote takes place at the Audimax immediatly after the opening of the Night of Writing at 6 p.m.. This will be followed by a conversation with Nancy Hünger by Dr Manuela Klaut (Chair of Art and Cultural History).
And it goes on after the event:
On 14 June 2024, Nancy Hünger and Stefan Petermann will give the workshop "Schreiben, scheitern, weiter schreiben – Eine Textwerkstatt". You can register for this Follow-Up workshop here.

Various eLearning courses on the subject of writing are available for students and doctoral candidates of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar throughout the year.
Students, doctoral candidates and teachers will find tips and tutorials on (academic) writing, which can be used individually, as part of a writing group or in a seminar.
The Moodle course "Wissenschaftliches Arbeiten@Bauhaus" is accessible to students and doctoral candidates of all faculties and accompanies the process of writing a scientific paper with knowledge content, tips and interactive tasks. Additionally, the weekly online seminar "Bau Dir Deine Arbeit: Schreiben, Quellen, Stil - Einführung in das wissenschaftliche Arbeiten" (Building your work: writing, sources, style - introduction to scientific work) takes place every semester as a Bauhaus.Module.
The interdisciplinary eLearning course for doctoral candidates deals with the planning, organisation and documentation of research projects and provides information on labour law and copyright. It was designed by GRADE - the Graduate Academy of the Goethe University Frankfurt and can be used free of charge by doctoral candidates at the Bauhaus Universität Weimar.
