Lecture and multimedia presentation | Sergei Eisenstein's Capital Diaries Rediscovered, Dr Elena Vogman
Sergei Eisenstein's planned film version of Karl Marx's Das Kapital (1927-1928) is considered a phantom project: never realised, it has nevertheless inspired many filmmakers and theorists to this day - from Guy Debord to Alexander Kluge. Media scholar Elena Vogman presents the extensive translation from the archives of the Soviet director and theorist, newly published in the journal October. The Capital Diaries: A New Selection is based on over five hundred pages of notes, images and sketches from Eisenstein's Capital project. This new publication emphasises the experimental, auto-theoretical and visual character of the material. The presentation is accompanied by Uliana Bychenkova's (Bauhaus-University Weimar) visual and acoustic work on Eisenstein's Capital Project, which has been exhibited in Paris and Berlin, among other places.

Damage events hit us again and again. In Germany and Europe, we also see damage to residential buildings and important infrastructure caused by earthquakes, floods, heavy rain and storms. What can we learn from this? How can we deal with them? And how can we prepare ourselves better? We show examples from current events and offer you the opportunity to experience for yourself how shocks can be visualised.

Exhibition | Vulnerability and Risk Assessment for Costa Rica
The posters present the results of a final thesis and an assignment abroad in Costa Rica. The focus is on the vulnerability of buildings in Costa Rica. Various construction methods were identified and classified as part of a building survey. Until now, residential buildings in Costa Rica have only been partially analysed. This project contributes to expanding the existing knowledge in order to make it usable for seismic hazard analyses.
